"Both end-to-end process automation and the integration with our ERP have brought countless benefits, but the most significant ones have been agility and the reduction of errors and rework. Today, we have control and visibility over workflows, strong user adoption of the tool, and centralized information in a single environment, eliminating the need for standalone systems."

With 18 years in the market, Lyon Engineering specializes in deployment management and facilities management services. Operating across all regions of Brazil, the company serves major players in industries such as mining, steel, energy, cement, logistics, and automotive. Headquartered in Belo Horizonte, MG, with 14 branches across seven states, Lyon Engenharia has a team of 2,500 professionals and over 600 completed projects.

End-to-End Process Automation

Structuring the right team for each project requires attention to every detail. This is one of Lyon Engenharia’s key differentiators, making the company a benchmark in Brazil for mobilizing multidisciplinary teams to execute complex projects in remote areas—all while ensuring compliance with technical and legal requirements at every stage. However, due to the highly complex nature of these processes, which involve multiple departments, training, and customized integration methods tailored to each client and project, the company recognized the need to automate workflows end-to-end. The goal was to optimize internal processes, enhance efficiency, and ultimately deliver projects with higher quality and reduced timelines.

Guilherme Turazzi Eid, Corporate Manager at Lyon Engenharia, explains that assembling teams to support clients across different industries and regions in Brazil involves nearly every department in the company.

"Hiring people to work in industrial plants requires meticulous attention to detail. Beyond recruitment and selection, it involves extensive documentation, medical exams, training, and project-specific resources," he notes.

One of the company’s biggest challenges was the lack of visibility and traceability in tracking each step of the process. Guilherme recalls that there was no structured workflow with clear accountability and deadlines, which often led to delays and rework.

"We were using a ticketing tool adapted for this need, but it had several limitations. For example, it didn’t allow parallel activities—each task had to be completed before the process could move forward. Additionally, we had no visibility into task progress, leading to inefficiencies and bottlenecks," he explains.

Digital Transformation Across the Business

To overcome these challenges, Lyon Engenharia sought a solution to map and automate its key processes. After evaluating several options, the company adopted SoftExpert BPM, a business process management (BPM) software that enhances process visibility and control through an integrated, people-centric approach. The implementation was carried out by Kabevi Tecnologia, SoftExpert’s partner in Minas Gerais.

Today, the tool’s workflows span across all departments, including HR, Occupational Health, Procurement, Accounting, IT, Finance, and more. While the processes are centralized at the company’s headquarters in Belo Horizonte, all 14 branches use the solution for requests. More than 5,000 processes have already been executed within the platform, which is integrated with Senior’s ERP system, enabling the extraction of reports that can be published in interactive dashboards.

Centralized Information & Greater Efficiency

As a result, automated and integrated processes have significantly improved agility and visibility, allowing real-time monitoring through customized portals. This eliminates errors and rework while promoting standardization and centralization of information.

"With well-mapped and structured processes, we’ve reduced total response time. Today, multiple tasks run in parallel, making operations much more dynamic and efficient," Guilherme explains.

Previously, relying on native ERP reports made management inefficient. Now, the company leverages the suite’s Analytics tool to generate insights directly from its data.

"With BPM integrated into our ERP, we can transform raw process data into valuable, intelligent insights that support decision-making—directly impacting business performance," he adds.

Another key advantage is task delegation by role. Unlike the previous system, which lacked this capability, BPM ensures workflows continue smoothly even if an employee goes on vacation, preventing process interruptions.
